They’re not just costing you money. In my local newspaper this week, a guy woke up to a house fire caused by leaving his tv on standby! I won’t be doing that anymore!

Also people are wasting money with appliances that are turned on even when they need them! There are too many in-efficient appliances like washers and cookers, we should be more careful when choosing!

appliances – Very good point! At Green Store and more we offer a selection of Energy Star approved appliances, that are all energy efficient.

Thanks for the heads up. I am always turning lights off behind my wife and kids trying to save a few bucks on the light bill.

Every night I see a load of LED’s winking at me when I switch the living room light off and just wish I sorted out my power saving.
I still haven’t done it for fear of clocks losing settings etc.

Its said that the average house wastes about £30 a year just by leaving electrical items on standby. Its surprising how much electricity those little led lights use up over a 12 month period, multiply that by an entire city and that’s a lot of wasted energy.
